Kano, Oct. 2, 2012 (NAN) The Police Command in Kano State has arrested 96 suspected criminals, including a notorious hoodlum who has served several jail terms.



This is contained in statement signed by the Public Relations Officer of the command, ASP. Magaji Majiya, in Kano on Tuesday.



The statement said the suspects were arrested on Sept. 26 during a raid at various black spots, criminal hideouts and uncompleted structures in the Kano metropolis.



‘’The raid was carried out behind Unguwa Uku Motor Park, Yan’awaki area, Walawai and Walawai by graveyard.



‘’This raid was successfully conducted, based on timely information from good members of the community.



It said the command would continue to raid criminal hideouts with a view to flushing them out of the state.



‘’The command will continue to keep the identity of all patriotic citizens who furnish us with useful and timely information with all the confidentiality it requires.’’



He named items recovered during the raid as one AK 47 rifle, six cutlasses, two dane guns, three locally made pistols and house-breaking implements.



Others are clubs, one hand-made weapon, six parcels and 100 wraps of Indian hemp, 100 bottles of suck- and-die rubber solution, six swords, two tiger generators and two laptops. (NAN)
