Birnin Kebbi Oct. 5, 2012 (NAN) The Kebbi Government has set aside N400 million to revive two moribund industries owned by the government.
The industries are the plastic industry and the fertiliser blending plant located in Birnin Kebbi Local Government Area.
Alhaji Sani Rukubalo the Commissioner for Commerce and Industries, who disclosed this in Birnin Kebbi on Friday in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), said the industries would commence production next year.
``If the plastic industry and fertiliser plant commence production, they would provide employment and generate revenue for the state,’’ Rukubalo said, adding that the industries would create about 3,000 jobs.
The commissioner said the incumbent administration was determined to establish a base for industrial development and investment in the state.
He said that the government had spent N2 billion in the past five years to promote small and medium scale enterprises that had provided employment for the people. (NAN)
