Asaba, Oct. 31, 2012 (NAN ) Gov. Emmanuel Uduaghan on Wednesday submitted a list of nominees for appointment into the board of Delta State oil Producing Areas Development Commission to the state legislature for confirmation.
The nominees are Mr Oritsua Kpogho, Chairman, as well as Mr Michael Diden, Mr Kingsley Otuaro, Mr Henry Ofa, Mr Joseph Ogeh and Rev. Chukwudi Eke as members.
Others are Mr Ken Okougbo, Mr Festus Utuama and Chief Christopher Obiuwevbi.
The list was forwarded to the assembly through a letter read on the floor of the assembly by the Speaker, Mr Victor Ochei .
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) recalls that the assembly on Sept. 12 passed a resolution calling for the dissolution of the board, inaugurated in August 2011, for poor performance.
Following the resolution, Udughan on Sept 17 dissolved the board.
Kpogho and Diden, Otuaro, Ofa and Ogeh and Eke were members of the dissolved board, while Okougbo, Utuama and Obiuwevbe are fresh nominees.
The Majority Leader of the House, Mr Monday Igbuya, moved a motion for the assembly to receive the letter for further consideration.
The motion was seconded by Mr Joseph Oshevire, representing Ethiope East Constituency, and was unanimously adopted by the assembly.
The speaker then directed the nominees to appear before the house for screening on Thursday, next week.
He also directed that the nominees should submit 35 copies each of their curriculum vitae to the Office of the Clerk to the House of Assembly on or before Tuesday. (NAN)
