Port Harcourt, Oct. 16, 2012 (NAN) Flying Eagles Coach John Obuh says he is happy that his former  U-17 player, Onazi  Ogenyi,  made his debut in the senior National Team, the Super Eagles.

Ogenyi was one of the players who made it at the Nations Cup qualifying match against the Lone Star of Liberia.

Ogenyi, who plays for Lazio of Italy, played in the U-17 team, when Nigeria hosted the FIFA U-17 tournament in 2009 and the U-20 team in 2011.

Obuh told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Port Harcourt on Tuesday that he was elated to see his player, in the senior national team.

``I am really elated at the development. It is a sign of good things to come.’’

He expressed optimism that more of his players would make it to the Eagles.

``I feel so elated, and more of them will still make it. I am only waiting for their invitation; more of them will still make it.

``Kenneth is still there playing for junior Chelsea; Ajagun , who is still in Nigeria playing very well for us, is there; Ali, who is playing my left back is there . There are so many of them that I am sure are going to make it.

``Very soon, I am very sure, my players will take over the Super Eagles.’’

On the Flying Eagles, Obuh said the team was intact and before the African Youth Championship would begin, he would have selected players for the event.

He said the most important thing in the campaign was the qualification to be at the championship.

``The most important thing is the qualification, which we now have. And the next thing which I look forward to is to have a team.

`` We have played the game and we have qualified, that means that we have a team on ground. It is now with time that we start looking at the team on ground and then see who comes in and who goes out.

``Nothing is permanent; as far as the team is concerned excerpt, when the last list is sent for competition.’’ (NAN)
